This extra lightweight portable drill is a modular unit designed for quick assembly, disassembly and transportation, and easy field maintenance. The ARDCO Model MP-100-XL Man Portable Drill is ideal for seismic shot hole drilling, soil investigation, engineering studies and mineral exploration.

 

STANDARD FEATURES:

CAPACITY: 100 ft. (30.48 M) depth with water drilling, using 3-1/2 in. (8.89 cm) diameter bit.

ROTARY TABLE: Spiral bevel gear drive rotary with variable high/low speeds via pulley size change; rotary table is controlled via Twin Disc brand dry disc mechanical clutch.

MAST: Three vertical, 2-inch (5.08 cm) tubular steel legs support the pulley; the two front legs guide and stabilize the Kelly.

WEIGHT: The total five-module drill unit weight is 435 lb. (197 kg).

ENGINE: Yanmar one-cylinder, 9 HP, four cycle, lightweight, air-cooled rope start diesel.

PULLDOWN: Worm drive cathead winch for pulldown with reversing pulley to retrieve drill stem.

SWIVEL: Kelly bar of 7 ft., 4 in. length constructed of 2-inch (5.08 cm) square steel complete with drive bushing; Kelly guides and Kelly pin to drill pipe. Swivel assembly Model J2 with 1-1/2 inch connection and swivel adapter.

PUMP: 2-in. x 2-in. (5.08 cm x 5.08 cm) centrifugal pump powered by a 4 HP Yanmar diesel engine; delivers 100 GPM. Complete with suction and discharge hoses with lightweight quick disconnects.

CATHEAD ASSEMBLY: Aluminum housing, oil bath, worm gear drive, ball bearings, and a double sheave, 9-inch drive pulley with cathead on the right side of the gear box.

PAINT: Drill is completely sandblasted, primed and painted one color, regular enamel, customer choice (standard: ARDCO yellow).

OPERATING EQUIPMENT INCLUDED:

  • Two 3/4" x 28' manila cathead hoisting line (one for rotary, one for hoisting drill pipe.
  • One 1/2" x 25' manila cathead pulldown line.
  • One pipe hoisting plug with swivel extension.
  • One pair of slips for rotary and pipe.
  • One Kelly wrench.
  • One 3-1/2", three-blade scratcher bit.
  • One bit adapter (drill pipe to bit, 2-in. HDE).
  • Fifteen (100') 2" CA, 1-1/4" 2-meter long drill pipe with breakout.
  • One 2" x 2", 150 GPM centrifugal pump with 4.2 HP, Yanmar diesel engine.
  • One 2" x 20', 2-in. suction hose with strainer.
  • One 1-1/2" x 25" supply hose with quick disconnects.
